You've got your name. Your constitution is solid. Your newspapers are booked. There's still a real document checklist ahead, and one specific tool worth knowing about before you touch it.

Here's what actually goes into finishing an Incorporated Trustees registration.

Who Can Actually Be a Trustee

You need at least two. Each one must be an adult, of sound mind, and resident in Nigeria. Nobody with a fraud or dishonesty conviction can serve.

The Real Document List

Signed minutes from the meeting where your trustees were appointed. Valid ID for each trustee. Passport photographs. Sworn declarations. Missing or unclear documents are the single biggest cause of delay at this stage.

A Tool Worth Knowing Before You Touch It

CAC's e-Affidavit tool is a one-time, irreversible step. Once you generate it, you can't simply redo it if something's wrong. It also has its own, stricter file format rules than the rest of the portal. Get your documents ready in the right format first — don't discover the requirements halfway through.

Signatures Matter More Than People Expect

Every trustee needs to actually sign where required, not just be listed. A document with a name typed in but no real signature is treated differently to one that's properly executed.

Where All the Earlier Work Gets Tested

Once every document is uploaded and correct, your application moves to CAC's own internal review. This is the stage where the earlier work actually gets tested. A name that cleared cleanly, a constitution that covers every required clause, and documents that are complete and correctly formatted all come together here.

If something is still missing or wrong at this point, you'll get a query, the same way naming issues generate one. The difference is these are usually simpler to fix than a rejected name — but only if you catch the actual reason, not just resubmit and hope.

This is also the point where all the earlier steps either pay off or don't. A registration that's been done carefully from the name stage onward tends to move through this final stage with far less friction than one that's been rushed to get here.
